Yesterday I styled the Fall ’08 look book of The Yana Collection. The shoot was photographed by Rachel Hanel and the designer, Yana German, was there.
We had such a blast!
The collection is going to be hot. All the pieces are designed to make the modern working woman look feminine, fierce, and edgy while still being able to keep it all looking powerful and professional.
No pencil skirts and frilly dresses or aprons here because this collection is going to be all about pairing flattering tops with trousers. It’s the kind of designer line that will have everyone saying, “That’s right boys, smart and sexy women wear the pants around here.”
Too much for conservative Chicago you say? I think not with Yana being one of six designers featured in The Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy’s on State Street which was created by the city’s Fashion Council and Mayor Richard Daley as an effort to turn the city into another fashion icon which may keep designers in Chicago.
Keep your eyes peeled cause I’ve already got my eyes set on a number of pieces from the collection!
I’ll be posting up the images as soon as I get them so check back later!
