FORD Commercial Test: Marilyn

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

This is Drew’s phone pic documentation of me and Christina with all her cuteness freezing in the lot behind the MISSRED studio this morning while Helen took a couple snapshots of Marilyn.

I must confess though y’all, I committed a total stylist sin but repeating the fur collar from Alice’s test and Bomond because I love it that much. Sorry! It won’t happen again… maybe. Just kidding. Yeah yeah tisk tisk… Ok… It won’t happen again…

But anyway, today was great. Christina started make-up at around 10:15am… We had the first outfit on by 11ish… and were done with all 3 looks by around 12:30! Helen is the fastest shooter ever! I mean, she only needs a couple of snaps per look and then she goes, “K done. next outfit!” Drew is a great photo assistant who is quick too… Christina’s make-up not only looks amazing in person but phorographs really well… And then there’s me… Team MISSRED rocks! I love working with them!

Double day!

Monday, November 5th, 2007

So today turned out to be a double booked day.

In the AM I tested with r. hanel Photography for one of FORD’s freshest faces, Alice! Krista Gobeli and Alice had make-up going while Rachel and I figured out the location looks. We started out with a beauty shot in the studio and then moved it all over to the beach… the freezing cold beach. We did the first outfit which was so cute that I ended up keeping it I can post a picture of the sweater up but the photo from the anthropologie site isn’t as good as Rachel’s work so I’ll wait til I get images from Rachel to post the photos up… For the second outfit, I had to feature my favorite fur collar by Phaiz and an amazing jacket that I got for a steal at Corssroads Trading Company! Man, I don’t know how models do it! You know… look cute and excited in the freezing cold? Well, I guess aside from the fact that I’m too short, that’s why I couldn’t model…

Now in the afternoon, I shot with Helen Burkun for Bomond’s December issue because I couldn’t resist! Of course it was team MISSRED with Christina doing make-up, Drew as the camera assistant, and me styling! Jessica from FORD was the gorgeous model who was photographed in the serious BLING from Di Moda Jewelers and fur by Phaiz! Oh my gosh… I can’t wait until the next gallery update! Stay tuned y’all!

Halo Black Clothing Shoot with Tony Francesconi Updated into Gallery

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

Gosh it’s so much easier to style a shoot that doesn’t need me to pull pieces from city boutiques and designers because everything is just set and waiting for me to do my thing! Now Tony, like I’ve said before, is a cool cool guy and a great photographer! While some photos don’t do any justice to the subject being photographed, he did mucho as you will see when you click the Halo Black portfolio link in the gallery section… So the client, Halo Black, had me style their Mens Medium sized t-shirts into fashionable pieces for the models to shoot in… When I got there I thought, “Oh crap these are HUGE… how the heck am I going to make these cute?!?!” But hey… 3 minutes later we had the moodle babes lookin’ ready to shoot and who would’ve thought a t-shirt could look so good?! It was fun… We were done in about an hour and a half and my son came along so he got to throw rocks into the after rain puddles… yay!

IMAGE Chicago Magazine shoot with Cynthia Peters

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

So the spread that I styled earlier this evening was on hats…

Hats by Samsara Design and fur accessories by another great local designer by the name of Robin Kyle who will be opening her own store front VERY SOON…

Cynthia is absolutely adorable and Mary, the make-up artist of Peerlessbeauty, could be a model herself and is an amazing make-up artist herself! The FORD model Laura was the cutest ever too! Anyway…

The shoot was fun but had us working late so I’m beat!!

IMAGE Chicago Magazine shoot with Elizabeth Jochum

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Elizabeth the photographer and Morgan the Make-up & Hair Stylist were both super cool and fun to work with! Andrei was easier to shoot than I thought (since guys are usually harder to shoot with the lack of accessories and all that fun stuff to jazz it all up with…) Elizabeth had a great concept in mind and it all looks like it’s going to turn out really great! Go check her work out on her website, www.elizabethjochum.com!

Helen Berkun of MISSRED Photography

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

I had called Helen a few months back to let her know that I exist because I saw her “RE-LIVE 1985” spread in IMAGE Chicago and found myself drooling. Her work is amazing… pro… beautiful… all the wonderful things I could ever say about an artists work I say about hers =)

She called me to style her editorial spread for Bomond Magazine and I was pretty much speechless but took the job =) We met to shoot on 09/05 and since it was our first time meeting in person, I walked up to give her a handshake and she goes, “I don’t handshake, I hug…” with a big warm smile.

The shoot went smooth… She snaps everything so quick that the model didn’t have to be in each outfit for very long… geez I took longer!…

… anyway… her work is amazing… she’s amazing to work with… she’s just amazing over all =)

ARMADIO fall ‘07 fashion show photographed by Brian Choi

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

The ARMADIO fall 2007 Fashion Show was a total hit =). We did the show in-store first for the cocktail event and it was so crazy back there. The models had their heels clacking up the stairs to the dressing area as the make-up artist (who volunteered to do make-up since both of the artists scheduled had to cancel last minute…) while I primped and prepped with a, “K go you’re good… K go…” By 8ish, I felt like it was midnight but had to keep the energy flowin’ cause next thing I knew, it was time to get into the limo and head straight to Lumen.

Lumen is a pretty nice, hip spot with it’s clean lines, low tables and benches… and lighting… (It was so nice to see some family show up in support of it all.)

So we did our thing… I stepped away for the Fashion Show portion to primp and prep “backstage” behind the bar (tee hee) and went back right after to shootin’ the breeze to loud music while people watching… the crowd was interesting and fun… but I was either too pooped to care or too excited that I was spending good times with my cousins and a friend of theirs… or both…
